5 Tips For Studying

Its October, which means, if you live in the UK, December mocks are only around the corner! so ive helped you out and put a few studying tips that will allow you to ace them!

1.Stay Hydrated

You have probably heard this everywhere, but its necessary. Since your brain is mostly water, drinking it helps you think, focus and concentrate better and be more alert. Another great thing about drinking water is that your energy levels are boosted. could this get any better?

2. Highlight Key words/Content

LIFE CHANGER! I’ve been doing this for years and its helped me so much, however do not highlight everything just because it looks pretty, actually highlight the key and important parts. Highlighting causes the brain to receive all the important content, its eye catching and easy to find. If you would like to go a step further then create a key for each page or just an overall subject, for example, highlighting in Green in English means Language techniques.

3.Create a time table

The way this helps me, is creating a timetable for 2-3 subjects a day and spreading them into 1 hour each with 10 minute break intervals. Don’t set yourself a time you are going to start revising, but spread your day out and make space for 2-3 hours, if you have a specific time them it may demotivate you however if you feel this helps you then go for it!

4. Find your type of learning and use that to revise

You could either be an Auditory,Visual or Kinetic learner; if you are an auditory learner then this simply means your a person who mainly learns through listening, if you are so, then you can record your voice on your phone saying the important content you need to memorize. If you are a visual learner, you mainly learn by seeing your notes you can interpret graphs, charts and maps and find this useful, and also highlighting your notes may be useful. If you are a kinetic learner then you find yourself moving your bodies bodies, activating muscles as you learn, to memorize your content you can make flashcards and sticky notes and put them around the places you find yourself most at (E.G on the front of the fridge) find your way and start revising.

5. Use the Pomodoro technique

The Pomodoro technique is a time management strategy. this technique consists of 25 minute work slots and then breaks in between. This technique is perfect for someone who needs to stop procrastinating and start managing their time. For example: 25 minutes doing maths then a 5 minute break stretching and going to eat a small snack, then back for 25 minutes doing more work. In this way you can equally spread your tasks! You can find this timer online.
